Type 2 Diabetes : my personal story of diagnosis, treatment and research.

Getting diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes was a bit of a shock.  I’m not overweight, am quite active and don’t eat lots of sugary foods, mostly cooking using fresh ingredients. There is no known family history, my mother was classed as pre-diabetic a decade ago but has never progressed beyond this stage. So, to my mind T2D was not something I ever thought would affect me. This thinking prevented me getting diagnosed early and has led to some unwelcome complications. So why me and what should I have been more aware of? In this blog I will be discussing my diagnosis, treatment and life style, along with some personal thoughts and comments on treatment and technological advances being made.
